Fernando Alonso: Silverstone will better suit to Ferrari's characteristics

After the epic win at Valencia, Fernando Alonso is all charged up and ready to face the Silverstone circuit. And this weekend, he is expecting his Ferrari will be even better suited to the track. In Valencia, his car was struggling, as we saw in qualifying but Alonso still managed to drive superbly and win the race.

Currently leading the championship by a healthy 20 point margin from Red Bull driver Mark Webber, Alonso feels his car will perform better at Silverstone.

"Silverstone should be a little bit better for us, suit our car better," Alonso said in Thursday's press conference. "In the high speed corners our car is performing quite well, so hopefully me and Felipe (Massa) will do good this weekend.

"The weather is also very important here, anything can happen. The forecast is for lots of rain, so we need to be prepared for all. We will try to have a smooth qualifying, be in the right time on the right lap. Hopefully the car performs well in the race."
